Mar 18 2019 - Red Rock Canyon - Calico Tanks

This was a really long mile and a half up the mountain. They said it was MODERATE but we both thought it was DIFFICULT.
We sat down several times to take a breather and drink water before we made it to the top.

Looks like a gravel road here.

Starting to get steeper thru a wash out or like  stream.

Red Rock is like a hard red dried mud. Easy to walk on, not too slippery.

The trail is not very well marked so people got different paths.

Got on these big rocks to stay out of the water.

Gets a little scary up here.

What a beautiful place to visit.

A lot of people out here today and you can see the worn rocks where the path goes up the hill.

Finally made it to the lake which is called "Calico Tanks".
We did not go around the small ledge  in order to get to the top of that mountain.

Some people did go up there, you can see them on the top.
That is about a 25 foot drop off behind Susan.

They tried to make steps to walk on but the rocks get mess up with so many people visiting this trail.

Driving to the next parking spot.
