Apr 15 2019 - Snow Canyon State Park Utah - Lava Tubes

The Snow Canyon  State Park Utah walk was a nice trip to see lava tubes underground but I stayed above.

I take pictures of Susan in them so you can judge the size of things in the picture.

Hole in ground made from lava millions of years ago.

She has to get in the tubes, not me.

Susan took this picture from inside of this tube. You can crawl thru to the other side.

These guys went in another tube and walked awhile thru it but you have tp get on a ledge the drop off or slide vertical about 6 feet (Susan is 5'4") and have to get back up, Not me.

Here is the ledge.

Must have been spring break because it was really busy with kids here.

Another tunnel entry.

Don't you love to see airplane streams?

These three pictures shows my lovely wife disappearing in a black hole in the ground.

NOT ME, I like it up here where the sun shines, I am claustrophobic I guess.

Look closely and you will see kids on top of that big hill, NOT ME.

She is resting.

Just got to do it!

That is a post that directs you to the trails. This one shows walking and horses.
after and hour of walking in desert sand and walking around horse urine puddle and poop, we detoured across a canyon and cactus to the main paved entry road.  Not easy to walk in desert sand which is like beach sand but horse hoof print everywhere. We learn not to go on horse trails any more.

This is sand which has gotten hard or crystalized over time, easy to walk on and does not slip much.

Made it to the paved road.

Nice stop to see the water made holes and stuff here.

Susan went in there, I helped her up to look and she got down, I let her go and now she has a bruise on her buttock, luckily she did not damage her phone.

Time to go back to campsite.
