Aug 25 2018 - White Oak Civil War Museum & Research Center

Nice little privately owned Civil War Museum which has more original artifacts dug up by local people than any other museum we have visited.
One mans dream was to preserve the artifacts and he has done well.
Well worth a couple dollars entry fee.
A master carpenter made all the wooded parts to specs on this cannon and most of the show cases.

I added this plaque which is actually located about 8 miles south of the Fort A. P. Hill main gate on US301. Near this sign is where Booth was killed at a farm.
There is a plaque outside the White Oak Civil War Museum that said something about they carried Booths dead body down the road you see in the above picture to the right of the museum.
I will go back and take a picture of it.
