Jul 17 2019 - The Mammoth Site Dig

The Mammoth site is an ongoing dig for bones. At the time dinosaurs were on earth, there was a huge pit that was filled with water and the dinosaurs would try to drink water but would fall in and drown. The video we watched said this went on for many millions of years. A man bought the hill where the dig is now and was going to build housing there but while bulldozing the hill down they saw bones. The man ended up selling the property to the state or whoever owns it for the same he had paid for it. They said the pit is about 22 feet deep but they drilled down to 66 feet and still found bones. So it could be years or decades before they excavate to the bottom. Some bones are left in place for the public to see and study. Some are removed and shipped to other museums. This is one place you should add to your bucket list if you like dinosaurs.
