Aug 06 2019 - Gavin Dam and Nebraske Natioanl Fishery

The Gavin Dam has a one road across the section where the power house is located.
The spill way under normal circumstances are closed but with all the previous rain in the area, the gates are open allowing 300,000 gallons of water flow per second.

We visited the Aquarium and the National Fish Hatchery. They are raising PADDLE fish.

This outside pond has a bunch of Trout and the feed is free. Susan fed them a lot of pellets.

We walked out around several ponds and saw a lot of fish in there.

Went back to our campsite and somebody had to feel the boat ramp water temperature.

we drove to the other side of the river to see 3 other campgrounds.

we watched fish trying to go upstream and they were getting thrown around in the rough water.

We will be going swimming here soon. Nice free beach.
