Jul 09 2019 - Welcome South Dakota

We drove on to South Dakota and was going to stay at Ellsworth Military base but they had no open spots except 2-3 overflow with electrical. I called ahead and the girl said she sees spot open so ten minutes later I drove on base to fins NO SPOTs available . So we drove east out I 90 and found a nice campground behind a gas station.

The semi looks like it got blown over from high winds last night.

Looks like craters on the moon.

Oil wells in this state too.

I always take a picture of Teepees.

I like to take pictures of trains too.

Nope, that's not the Badlands.

A very nice rest stop. Patriotic too.

The 24 Express gas station is owned by Tom who also owns the hotel and some rental trailers.
We called ahead to ask about staying here for 6 days but he said the campground is closed. After talking a minute or he asked what size RV and I told him 32ft Class C. He said come on and he will show us how to get to a couple high but not dry spots. as you can see it is all gravel but running off into the grass will sink down and get stuck. We made it ok and it rained last night again and it was lots of water on the ground. We will stay here until Monday the 15th then leave for Hot Springs South Dakota. We will not get stuck using the jeep to go scouting around.
Oh I forgot to mention that this is $10 cash per night with dump station at the entrance.
